Except, of course, from my perspective, I don’t believe that “Jesus failed me.” Because I think Jesus has been dead for 2000 years. I don’t believe that Santa Claus failed me either, I just think he doesn’t exist.
What do you think “a fair chance” would look like? If someone fails to find Jesus after 50 years of constant study and seeking, for example, is that a fair chance? Is there any situation in which you would say, “OK, I see that you genuinely tried, and it’s fair that you stopped trying to find Jesus”? I guess not, because you seem to think it is impossible not to find Jesus.
What do you mean by “you know it’s not true?” I think you are projecting your own beliefs onto me.
When people react with words like yours, I feel like you don’t care about me as a person. Because your devotion to an invisible god, is automatically ALWAYS RIGHT compared to anything I might tell you from my own personal experience, and you will defend that idea, that tradition, that superstition, even if it means hurting me.
