Hmm, yes, I like what you said about increased awareness of death deepening your value of life and your intentionality about the way you live. I think I've felt the same way. Ouch, 6 surgeries as a young child! I've only had 1 major surgery (and a number of smaller ones) but it's hard to think about young kids going through all that.
