Thanks for your comment/question.

Your situation is a little different than mine, because by the time I walked away I had moved to another town for university. I was going to church there, but I was not involved, or missed when I left.

Which part of it seems to be requiring the most courage? Is it a question of belief (eg. you’re not sure if you believe or not, or you’re scared of hell or other spiritual consequences if you leave)? Or is it more about the community aspect, having to tell everyone you changed your mind, change your job, etc.?

I might not have all the right answers for you, but I can point you to a few resources.
